Does getting your ear pierced with a needle hurt more than getting it done with a piercing gun

the guns over in a second needle takes longer and is more painful

peircing with a gun is fine because it really is quick and for the most part painless, but its over rated. i have 6 ear piercings and i did all but two with a safety pin. the good part about doing it yourself is that you can ice it right before, and you dont feel a thing. kind of like when you go out in the cold weather and your ears get numb. save the time and money and do it yourself.

Guns hurt less than needles as they are a lot quicker.
But needles are safer as they are one time use things , while with a gun it is been used on other people.
I've gotten my first 2 sets of holes in my ear lobes and my left cartilage done with a gun and they are fine

For lobes I do not think it really matters although I find the gun to sting a bit. For anything else though only go for needles, it is way less painful as the needle is sharp & slides through far more easily than a blunt object being forced into ur ear.
I have 11 piercings, 5 were done with guns & I've had much better experiences with needles.

Edit: What is it with people piercing themselves with household objects thinking they're experts on piercings?!

It is total BS that u can hear ur skin 'ripping' with a needle, I never hear anything where as with the gun it makes me jump & it is loud as hell. Some of these r ridiculous, needles r the way to go, especially if u want to gauge ur lobes.

Yes its true, it hurts less with a piercing gun
WHY??:

- it hurts less
- its faster
- u cant hear it rip ur skin
- the pain is only for like a few seconds
- its SAFER!

With a needle:

- it hurts more
- its longer for it to go in
- u can hear it rip ur skin [which is gross! ]
- the pain is longer


TRUST ME!! My friend when he was in class, he got bored so he pierced his ears with a staple or needle, i forgot which, & then he pierced his ear.He said it hurt a lot & had to go to the nurse.

i wouldnt know i my mom pierced mine when i was 9 months

piercing gun doesnt hurt has much because its quick and the pain is instantly gone while just a needle takes a while and last for a while

im goint to be honest my gosh the needle hurts you really feel it but with the piercing gun is so quick and easy...my 4 month daughter didnt cry she got it done with the gun

I think its safer by needle.

The gun is not cleaned properly, even though its less pain and faster.

if it hurts its for e afew socnds. i find that the guns are more of a hassle than needles. but if you have a high pain toelrance than you can go either way. but the simple way out is the needle.

It hurts less with the needle. Plus its much better and does not cause as much trauma and provides better jewelry for the healing process.

Piercing with a gun has a less chance of infection and you cant hear it rip your skin. Also hurts less.

Needle, you can hear the skin rip, which is pretty nasty and it hurts a lot more.

I've tried both methods. I stick with the gun.

I think in the long run it hurts the equal amount.. ive got it peirced my a piercing gun, and ive peirced my ears with safety pins, and they both dont hurt that much..

nahh, my mom got it peirced with a needle (her friend did it, lol) but the gun is easier! it is fast and does not hurt really at all. it is over with MUCH faster and is safer.

piercing it with a needle does hurt more but its more accurate iv'e done bothe and the ones i got done with a gun it totally messed up and is right next to my other oeircing so now i always get it done with a needle
